Advocacy

Project Safe is committed to changing the deeply ingrained stigmas and practices that limit the rights and opportunities of women and girls in India. Through a variety of community-based events, gatherings, and awareness campaigns, the organization tackles critical issues such as the stigma around the girl child, the barriers to education, the oppressive parda system, dowry practices, and the right to work and financial freedom.
The initiative actively works to challenge traditional norms and encourage a more progressive, inclusive approach to gender equality. Project Safe organizes workshops and discussions to raise awareness about the importance of girls’ education, advocating for equal opportunities and empowering girls to dream beyond societal limitations. By addressing the harmful effects of practices like dowry and the parda system, the organization strives to break down the barriers that hinder women from living free and autonomous lives.
In addition, Project Safe advocates for menstrual equity and the right to hygienic, affordable menstrual products, addressing the stigmas surrounding menstruation and promoting health education. These efforts aim to ensure that women and girls are not held back by societal taboos or the lack of basic sanitation.
Through its grassroots approach, Project Safe works to create supportive communities where women and girls are encouraged to pursue their education, assert their right to work, and gain financial independence. The goal is to foster an environment where women are seen as equal partners in society, with the freedom and support to achieve their full potential.
