Sanitation

In India, many women and girls still face significant challenges when it comes to sanitation and menstrual hygiene. A large number rely on unhygienic and unsafe alternatives like cloth, rags, or even grass to manage their menstrual periods due to the lack of access to affordable sanitary products. This poses serious health risks and perpetuates cycles of shame and inequality.

Project Safe works to address these issues by promoting menstrual equity and ensuring that women and girls have access to safe, affordable, and hygienic sanitation products. The initiative focuses on raising awareness about menstrual health, providing free or low-cost sanitary pads, and advocating for sustainable, eco-friendly solutions. By tackling the barriers that prevent access to proper menstrual care, Project Safe helps women and girls maintain their dignity, health, and overall well-being, ensuring they can participate in daily activities without fear or discomfort.

Through this work, Project Safe is striving to break down the stigma surrounding menstruation and create a more equitable environment where women have the resources they need to live healthier, more empowered lives.
